Trusted fire safety consulting, engineering and fire testing for the maritime sector

Welcome to DBI - The Danish Institute of Fire and Security Technology. For more than a century, we have worked to protect lives and safeguard assets. As an independent fire safety institute, we combine accredited fire testing, specialist consulting and engineering, fire investigation and applied research.

We are over 350 employees specialised in various aspects of fire safety, ready to assist you and your company, from concept to market.

At our headquarters near Copenhagen, we carry out almost all types of fire testing of materials, components, and structures for the maritime sector, and we provide fire safety consulting for ships, offshore units, naval vessels and ports.
