"DBI is not just a workplace. It’s a place where I feel valued and recognised"
As a department leader and fire advisor, I get the best of both worlds. I get to develop and manage people while practising my specialisation. My tasks touch everything – from daily and strategic management to competitions and offers, technical documentation and quality assurance. This provides variety in my workday, which makes my job fun, exciting and challenging.
For me, DBI is not just a workplace – it’s a place where I feel valued, recognised, and included. The ceiling is high, and everyone is listened to. There’s always room to ask questions, seek out new knowledge and come forward with new ideas across specialities. We are anything but a silo thinker. And if you show curiosity and interest across departments, you can grow and develop in all directions within DBI.
DBI also believes that good management leads to engaged employees. And they’ve developed and motivated me in my own management role. This is the first employment contract that’s ever obliged me to carry out professional development, which tells you something about how highly DBI prioritises the development and well-being of employees.
